Campaigning Tips
Posted: 2 months ago
Ok guys, so campaigning is a huge pain in the you-know-what but since it is the best way to get votes, I am going to give you a few tips from what I learned last time around. Who knows, maybe you will even have fun!
Do’s
-Do think BIG! Involve your community, local newspaper, radio, and student organizations; you would be surprised how many people are willing to help out.
-Do be nice to everyone, even if you know they won’t vote for you, it doesn’t hurt to be polite and you don’t want to come off looking like a total jerk.
-Do get your friends and family involved. The more people you can get on the site the better.
-Do add a lot of new content. No one wants to come back and vote for you if they are looking at the same stuff every day.
Don’ts
-Don’t get dirty. Talking badly about other contestant’s only makes you look bad and makes all of their friends cranky.
-Don’t be boring; think of something fun to write on people’s walls that with capture there attention. A simple “vote for me” usually won’t cut it. Same goes for your community, people don’t want to help out someone who doesn’t make a splash!
-DON’T TYPE IN ALL CAPS. Some people might think you are yelling, and no one likes to be yelled at.
Oh, campaigning! Remember last season?Do you guys have any campaigning tips for all the VR rookies out there?

be prepard to spend about 20 hours a day on your computer.... basically, the winner is decided by how much time and effort you put into it. the more you put yourself out there for everyone...the more noticed you're gonna be. ....being real doesn't get you anywhere either. you pretty much have to pretend to be the nicest person in the world with no flaws in order to win....so...if you wanna win, get that mask on. -
I agree with writers4stars and Charcoalchick on why make this part of the competion no fun videos? hehe I have my first out of 3 campaign videos now! :) -
Took your advice, and now will be on one of the most listened to radio stations in Oklahoma tomorrow morning- KJ 103 FM!!! ... Go Big or Go Home!!! Oklahoma City is gonna represent!!! -
Here is a video me and charcoalchick made 4 our campaign: Check it out! :) -
I have no chance .....some how they deleted my video! -
i'm so nervous. but i'm ready! can't wait till monday! good luck everyone! -
These r great tips, def help me feel less nervous about this. :) Can't wait till monday! -
I wasn't old enough last season to compete but i was on some voting for Chase and Whitecup's so I picked up a few tips here and there.I think the main thing is for everyone to have fun with this. I plan to use this as a good opportunity to get to know people at other school. I play volleyball nationally and I want to meet people that I will see at my games. If you are in the summit conference let me know ! -
I'm a vet... lol. Well hey I would just say be yourself and hit people up without being too annoying :) And most of all have fun!!! That is what this whole experience is all about. -
This sounds so fun, thanks 4 the tips they're really good ideas. Im a rookie so i cant post advice but ur tips r really cool. :)

1 commentHey guys, it's me, Laura. I am really sad to leave L.A., but also excited because I get to go back to OSU (Ohio State University). Also, I am really happy because I get to continue my internship from home, so you guys can hear all about my senior year and also tell me about what's going on in your world. Football season is in gear and that's always a blast. I love tailgating with my friends before games, and I love Fall in general. It's nice to be back! What's going on with you guys this fall?

Disneyland!

1 commentSince I work for Disney, I get to go to intern events at Disneyland! It's a pretty cool perk. I had never been to Disneyland before so I was genuinely excited then I found out the friend I was going with (a fellow intern named Michael) didn't like roller coasters! We ended up having an awesome time anyways and I even survived my first California earthquake! At the end of the day, I managed to convince Michael to ride Space Mountain. After the ride he has a big smile and said, “That was awesome! It was funny :) My Favorite ride was definitely space mountain but we also went to fun stuff like the Bug's Life show. I thought it would all be cheesy but it was really cute and funny! The whole day was so fun; I would definitely go back again.
