How'd You Choose Your School?
Posted: 7 months ago
Dude, it's seriously one of the majorest decisions you've ever made. So many factors, so many issues ... what made you decide where to go to college?
Speaking of your school, have you used VR's Advanced Search yet? You can see who's on VR from your school, or from any school. You can look for people by interest, by what kinds of pics and movies they've posted, and even by hometown. Check it out -- who knows who you'll find?
OK, why'd you pick your school?

Well, it helped I'd been coming up for football games since I was 6 months old. But when a school thats been a part of your life since day one has the top Athletic Training program in the school, it's pretty much a given. Plus the campus is great, as is the school spirit! -
It was the cheapest & close to home -
I wanted somthing close. -
I spent my first 2 years at Central Mich. getting my basic classes out of the way and trying to run for the track team. Then I planned on going to Michigan for architecture, but didn't like their program so I ended up at Lawrence Tech. Almost went to UofD Mercy on a cross country scholarship at one point too...but anyways, if I could do it all over again, I'd probably go somewhere for film school...so I'm glad I only have 2 more classes until I get my degree. -
i picked my school because it was close to home, is a party school which means lots of fun people, and it's more personal than really big schools. -
I didnt my parents did after i party'd it up a lil to many times at south alabama -
well I had a few choices that UDM was up against because they were all close to home. I wanted to be close to my family. Of the three I received the best scholarship from them. Also UDM was the school that helped me to see what i wanted to do with the rest of my life. -
Senior year we had a college fair and I didnt want to be there. My mom was with me and she kept dragging me to every booth there was. My friend came over and talked to my mom about Wingate and so my mom made me go to the booth and one weekend my mom said I had to go visit colleges to see where I wanted to go and we went to 3 other schools before Wingate the same day so by the time I got there I was tired and cold cause it was rainy but as soon as I got to Wingate I was amazed. It is beautiful and friendly and small everything I wanted in a school so I applied to the schools my mom wanted me to and got accepted to them but I held out for Wingate and got in and was so happy and I have been happy since. -
Alright, so why did I choose my school aye? Well... lets see. First it was actually close to home so I got free rent, and utilities etc. I could commute and save money for the time that I actually need it *cough* grad school *cough* Then there was the fact that it had this stellar Psych program, and they also had Creative Writing. Overall WSU was a great choice and I don't regret it... now it's time to get ready for Grad School... who knows what I'll do now. -
Well I choose my undergrad school b/c it was far from home so my parents couldn't just drop in, large student body, had a great engr program, city life-style, greek life, and a big name football team. My graduate schools were another story - I choose them b/c they are small, close to home and have online classes since I travel for work. Also they are accrediated in my majors, which is important so my company pays for them! -
Well i choose my school for all the great classes they hav about fashion!!! -
I chose Oglethorpe University because it was close enough to my family to go home to get a free meal, but far enough away where they wouldn't come see me all the time. That, and it had a semi-well-known theatre department in the Atlanta area. Unfortunately, it's now too small for me so I'm transferring to University of Central Florida in the fall and changing my major to Event Planning, and I'm pretty stoked about it. And surprisingly, tuition for an out of state student at UCF is HALF the price of private Oglethorpe. -
I chose my school because it was the school farthest away from my family and still in state. It also had all my favorite things: art, hockey, women's hockey, and greek life. -
I always wanted to go to a school that looked like it was straight out of a movie. Delaware is really pretty. That's why i chose this school. For that reason alone. -
I chose my School because it was far enough from home to not commute and live on campus, anyone who doesn't misses out on the best part of college life. But it was close enough to go home and do laundry if I needed to. It was also small enough for most students to know me as well as the professors. I have to say I made the right choice and wouldn't be where I am right now If I stayed at home while going to college. -
For the college I'm going to now, I chose it because of it's price and closeness. The University I'm going to transfer to was the best teacher college in the state, and I can't afford to travel outside of Arizona. -
actually i jsut work at tech period!!!!! and lovin it too! -
In all honesty I followed a guy to college. And at first it was one of the biggest mistakes I ever made but now I love UK its an awesome school. And on the pro list I'm close enough to where I dont have to see him all the time but I can still show him what he's missing. -
Honestly, I wanted to get far away from CT..so no CT schools were even looked at and base don what I wanted at the time between sports and academics..it was between SLU or Cedar Crest..and easy decision... I decided I need to be around boys! -
I was accepted to a school that was about 6 hours away from home. I loved the school, it was small and a way for me to meet new people and start over. After making a pros and cons list, I decided I could not leave my hometown. I was born and raised here. Plus Fresno State has football. Go Bulldogs! (:

Greek Life is Back in Swing
Posted: about 1 month ago
4 commentsWe had our first open house this week for my sorority. This just means that we are accepting new members and gives them a chance to check out our house and the girls in the sorority. Recruitment can be really scary, I remember going through all the houses as a Freshmen and feeling really anxious! A bunch of nervous girls came through, but they warmed up. We call the potential new members P.N.M.s for short. It's always fun to meet new people, I met a bunch of really great girls. We managed to make it through the day pretty smoothly. Everything went well -- I can't wait to get new members!
Are you Greek or have you ever thought about joining a fraternity or sorority?

1 commentHey guys, it's me, Laura. I am really sad to leave L.A., but also excited because I get to go back to OSU (Ohio State University). Also, I am really happy because I get to continue my internship from home, so you guys can hear all about my senior year and also tell me about what's going on in your world. Football season is in gear and that's always a blast. I love tailgating with my friends before games, and I love Fall in general. It's nice to be back! What's going on with you guys this fall?

Disneyland!

1 commentSince I work for Disney, I get to go to intern events at Disneyland! It's a pretty cool perk. I had never been to Disneyland before so I was genuinely excited then I found out the friend I was going with (a fellow intern named Michael) didn't like roller coasters! We ended up having an awesome time anyways and I even survived my first California earthquake! At the end of the day, I managed to convince Michael to ride Space Mountain. After the ride he has a big smile and said, “That was awesome! It was funny :) My Favorite ride was definitely space mountain but we also went to fun stuff like the Bug's Life show. I thought it would all be cheesy but it was really cute and funny! The whole day was so fun; I would definitely go back again.
